Read my two tags while sorting out my new blogskin and i read realise two things bout the two tags: 1. My resolutions 2007, well...it seems that i only kept to one of resolutions made. Ops. Oh well, what past is past. i'd have to make a new 2008 resolutions and stick to it. PROMISE. 2. The composition for lucky's meal isnt exactly what I want now. Organs got to go (it might be too rich for him feed this way)and grains as carbos got to go also.
Been reading Dr. Pitcairn's New Complete Guide to Natural Health for Dogs and Cats and i'm going to make some changes to his diet. Not that i'm BARF-ing him thou. Because my family going to cringe if lucky cruches on raw meat and bones. But the book is sitll a good read for dog/cat owners who are thinking of more holistic way of pet-keeping.

from Vinco. yea..the donut sensation here have finally simmered. so i'm able to get those donuts without quening for a long time. :) the donuts from both stores are great. but i still prefer the one from Vinco. hehe..i manage to taste all the six flavours bought from Vinco. :P going to get some more from Vinco tomorrow if there isnt a quene.
On the otherhand, someone has been spoiling and pampering Lucky bigtime that he's turned into a spoilt brat! refusing to eat on his own, demanding to be handfeed and going picky over his food. :< going to spend sometime to 'de-spoil' him. if that isnt the case i'd have to bring him to the vet for a full-body check. that fellow is always making me worrying bout him!
Bought Lucky down to the Ju-ma today for a quick grooming. She bought one of her showdogs, Omen, down for a walk and Omen's simply gorgeous! The fur and gait! :)
Told Juma to groom Lucky down to a puppy cut since i've simply no time to groom him before i rush off to work every morning. Anyway, he always gives me this weird 'sad-dog' look during grooming every morning so i guess the puppy cut (without his topknot) suits him more. He's been acting all moody because of my long working hours again. :( Putting him down to work using KONG toy and I do seriously hope it's going to work or I really have to resort to using BFR.
And speaking bout work...yikes. I'm seriously wondering if i can survive the 4 months working with...well...meanie C. The way she shouts at sr D really, really spooks me. Plus the way she speaks ill of senior D, behind his back, in front of me. Tut-tut. And she speaks bout keeping me till December. Well, i'm not sure if i can survive even 1 month of hell with her.
And i hope that sr D's last day at work tomorrow is going to be a pleasant affair...for me, him and Meanie C. :P
some calculations to be done so that i could have a clearer mind. :)
it is said that for hcf, it is best to feed 2-3% of the dog's ideal body weight. lucky is approximately 1.5kg now and i would like his ideal weight to be 1.8kg.
which means the amount of food i should feed him each meal should be= 1800 x 0.03= 54g
further division of one single meal...
55% protein: 54 x 0.55 = 29.7g
25% carbos: 54 x 0.25 = 13.5g
20% greens: 54 x 0.20 = 10.8g
5% offals: 54 x 0.05 = 2.7g
for one week worth of meal,
protein needed: 29.7g x 14 = 118.8g
offals needed: 2.7g x 7= 18.9g
somehow it seems that lucky is getting more than what is needed for him. if this is so, how come he's still stick-thin??!!
ok, did i make a mistake in my calculations? is my maths really THAT bad?? can someone point out to me if i did make a mistake in my calculations???
anyway, if my calculations are correct, which butcher which be willing to sell me 20g of offals? perhaps i could persuade mr butcher to give them to me instead. :P
ok, i think i got it, this calculations is suppose to be of cooked food, i'm sure raw food weigh more since it contains water..TRUE OR FALSE??
finally got a close up of lucky's ears. :) although its been 2 weeks or so since his grooming, i'm glad that the fur around his ears has yet to start growing. i loveeeee those sharp and pointy ears of his!

sunday was a LONG day for me. took lucky to the dogshow in the afternoon (which means i was up since morning preparing him). met tootsie, sharon's gal plus dollie! (^_^)
i wonder if its because lucky's better being with female dogs, or that tootsie and dollie are quiet dogs or simply because BFR did its job on sunday. lucky wasnt great, but at least he's ok, not that hateful towards the two of them. he is still uncertain towards dogs that rushes to him, so i guess i got to work more on that. plus his weight (people are still commenting he's thin!!) and his coat! yucks. so much to work on! does that makes me a bad owner??

speaking of bdae, i'm turning 21 soon too...it just sucks growing up. :(
the recent pet food recall has really spooked me. although lucky is on full time HCF, i've always held the belief that a good balanced diet includes not only BARF but kibbles too. i thought that all that it matters, is to chose a good quality kibbles.
now i really wonder, what do THEY really put into kibbles? are the ingredients listed really used? or are there unseen ingredients too in the making of kibbles? will pets be garanteed a healthy life after eating kibbles?
anyway, i'm glad that i did made the decision to put lucky on HCF. i've stopped all his stored bought treats, switching to pork tendons and ordering home baked cookies instead. a dog's life is so short, i cant afford to make too much mistakes in his diet.
he is still on pet commerial supplement thou. and that somehow worries me. i hope the pet supplement companies are more sane compared to kibbles companies. :/
ok, even though they might not have the chance to read this, i would still like to say thanks to sharon and vivian for my free lunch. (^_^) plus brandon for the sweets and ruby for the cute watermelon stuffie.
sometimes its really weird that those who you really don come in frequent contact with are nice to you while others are...well. :) human to human relationship is always hard to figure out.
perhaps i should make this into some sort of a board, and hang it over my front door as a reminder for those nasty people who loves complaining bout my boy...:P
