Resolutions 2007

Yaya...i know its already 2007 and i'm only just starting on making my resolutions list. but hey, the year has only just begin so i guess making a resolution list is ok. :)

General:
1.To mind my own biz. ( i guess i kind of done it during 2006 but this behaviour could be further improved)

2.Spend more time with my close friends especially Esther.

3.Pump up lucky to at least 1.8 kg and maintain it there.

4. Stop spending so much on redundant stuff and to use my brain to analyse first before buying. (this is especially so when buying toys and stuff for lucky!-_-) In other words, be a wise shopper.

5. Take up a course, and yes, finish my XX course.

hmm, i guess that's all for the time being. May add more if i've thought of them. Yes, the 'x' part is censored. thats to play safe, just in case some nosy parker happens to read this and start blabbling to the whole world, before my course is even completed, thats not very nice, isnt it?

big wuff, small yep

friend had to go overseas for a few days and i dog-sat for her yorkie, dollie.

this dog-sitting experience was a good chance for me to know what its like to be the owner of two dogs and how to go about meeting their needs. also, to know how everyone at home could adjust to a new furry addition in the family.

dollie is a adorable yorkie with lots of puppy energy to burn off at six months old. her out-going character (yes, please do not be surprise that dogs have characters!) enabled her to settle down the first night. was able to put her inside the playpen and she slept the night away in the living room, by herself. recalling lucky's younger days, he would have screamed the house down should we left him in the playpen for such long hours. but, then again, he and dollie have totally different personalities.

glad to say that everyone in the family took to her, especially dad and sis. however, she did get on the nerve of lucky. i guess being the only baby in the family all his life, he couldnt accept another baby in the family. he kept his distance. to the extent of ignoring her. but dollie wasnt disheartened, she carried 'her' (i made lucky lent it to her) toy to lucky whenever she had the chance.

even though dollie was only here for a short stay, i was careful to greet lucky first, pat him first and fed him first(deadly important). dollie understood quickly that lucky was 'her' leader. i noticed lots of time of her observing lucky. after the second day, dollie learnt to pee on the newspapers (which is something she would not do, according to her parents), sit on command when i gave her food and ... barked like lucky (with the 'ah-roos') when family members arrived home. yes, she's a fast learner!

her personality is definitely one i would picked in future should i have my second dog. that's because she doesnt mind being second, is always eager to please people and (most importantly) respects lucky. after her second day, she knew that lucky wasnt keen on her and would try different ways warming up to him.

careful i was to let lucky know he was the leader of the 'pack', he was moody the few days dollie was here. he was afraid of her and at the same time probably sad with my dad for loving dollie so much. in simple words, he hated the new comer (and in many many ways he showed it)

however, it was strange to observe that he was exceptionally well-behaved. was it a way to make us notice him more? or to show the newcomer what its like to live here? i'm not sure. but after this few days i realise i needed to build up his confidence level more. am still wondering how to do that besides using bach flower rememdy.

so, in all, i may have succeeded in statisfying the two dogs on their physical needs (grooming, feeding and cleaning up) but i have failed on their emotional parts. lucky was clearly feeling happily after dollie left just now. showing his happy face (don ask me how, but i just know dogs have happy and sad faces) and begging for food. will have to work harder on this part.

but seeing dollie's poo these few days did gave me some confidence in introducing lucky back to kibbles. is now looking at two choices of kibbles. or maybe i'll still stick with HCF, with an all-rounded supplement...
